Investigation Underway After Shots Fired At Home

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- Police are investigating an overnight shots fired call after they found several shell casings near a duplex.

It happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning off Glenn Place.

Neighbors believe the shooting started after a car pulled up to the duplex.

Rita Kirk says at least two men went inside, came out and started firing.

"It was probably seven to eight shots rang out," Kirk said. "I happen to be looking out my bedroom window and saw them shooting."

However, when police arrived, and asked the person inside what happened... the resident "had no knowledge" of the shooting.

Kirk has lived here for nearly three decades and says she's fed up.

"I've said it for a while now, what's going on this street continues, there's going to be a shooting. Somebody is going to get hurt and thank God no body got killed tonight."

Police say the two drove off in a dark colored vehicle... but other than that, there is little information about the suspect/s.

There was damage to the outside of the home, but no injuries were reported.
