Crime Stoppers: Lexington Police Search For Serial Burglar

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Lexington Police say they have a serial burglar on their hands and they're hoping you can help catch him.

"Down in the Southland Drive area. We had a Marathon station that was hit down there and also a Speedway," said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

He said that the thief grabbed a bunch of lottery tickets and left the store in under a minute.

The Kentucky Lottery Commission cancelled those. Three people attempted to cash them in.

"So we need to find out of these three people, who they are and how they came into possession of these tickets to see if they can lead us back to our original suspect," said Detective Thomas.

Detectives say the thief then stole cartons of cigarettes.

"He takes cartons of cigarettes, because as we know on the street he can try to flip those and turn those quickly to people on the street," said Detective Thomas.

On September 6, detectives say the man made a third attempt at a Marathon Gas Station on Clays Mill Road, but got away with nothing.
