Man Accused Of Stabbing Stepfather Back In Jail After Outbursts

Posted: Updated:

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) - The Versailles man accused of stabbing his stepfather nearly five years ago appeared in court on a charge of a probation violation.

Ross Pharr refused to wear handcuffs in the courtroom and was initially taken out of the courtroom until he acquiesced. Pharr began uttering things in front of the judge demanding a speedy trial and asking the judge if he coordinated with law enforcement.

There was some confusion about the response to the question. He was led out of the courtroom chanting "no justice, no peace."

Pharr spoke with LEX 18 after he was taken into custody Tuesday night.

"The accusation was that my stepfather was stabbed by me," said Pharr.  "Now, I'm not going to confess to anything on open air.  That's where the trial comes in."

Phar told LEX 18 that the court forced him to take medication for mental illness. The commonwealth believes he has stopped taking medication.

"So what happened in my case is they literally forced these drugs on me so I couldn't speak up in court," said Pharr.

Pharr has a hearing set for November 1. He was given a court-appointed attorney.
