DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) - An unexpected find in a Boyle County front yard has been the talk of both the neighborhood and social media.
Curious residents of Lannock Drive are trying to figure out how a giant snakeskin, eight feet long, ended up in someone's yard. An anxiety is slithering among them as they hypothesize how the skin of such a creature ended up there.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officials say the snake is most likely some kind of constrictor, possibly a python. The exotic snakes are not native to Kentucky but are allowed as pets.
"I don't think there's anybody in this neighborhood with snakes like that, so I'd say it's more than likely going to be a prank," one neighbor told LEX 18.
If the snake is still loose, experts say the snake won't last long in the colder weather. Neighbors say they aren't too concerned but they will keep their small animals close.
