Crime Stoppers: Detectives Searching For Car Thief

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Lexington Police say that recently, a car was stolen when the owner left it running at a Shell Station on New Circle Road. Now, police need your help identifying the man who stole the vehicle.

"Never leave them running in your driveway, because these guys drive some of the nice neighborhoods, just looking for that, looking for the exhaust to come out, and tailpipes in winter time, it's a very easy steal for them, and they'll do it," said Detective Mark Thomas.

He said that every victim has the same reaction, saying that they never thought it would happen to them.

If you have any information about this crime that could lead to an arrest, your tip could get you a cash reward from Bluegrass Crime Stoppers. You can call in your tip at (859) 253-2020 or text your information to 'CRIMES'. Just put 'LEX P-D' in the message, along with your tip.
