CASEY COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) The Galilean Children's Home is a place for children of all ages who need a place to call home and this weekend they are hosting their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Of the residents there, Lance is bedridden from Cerebral Palsy and Kylie has lived at the home since the second day of her life, as her mom rides out a prison sentence.
"Once a week those mothers get a visit with their baby for two hours," said Quincy Burt, the home's development director.
Some will leave the home and some have been there for more than a decade. Some will live out the remainder of their lives at the home.
The Galilean Home takes people in when others can't or won't and they rely entirely on donations.
The fundraiser this weekend will be the 28th Annual Galilean Quilt and Craft Auction.
All of the handmade products have been donated for the event.
"We have some really generous supporters really from all over the Bluegrass State and all over the county," said Burt.
He said that he also benefited from the Galilean Home.
"Went to school here, had chores here just like everybody else," he said.
Then he found his calling at the home where he works to ensure there's always 'hope and room for one more.'
If you can't make the auction, you can always donate on their website here.
