Neighbors: Man Continues To Burglarize Kilrush Drive Homes

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Those who live on Kilrush Drive say their three-street neighborhood is filled with friendly families, loving neighbors and a sense of security. But three months ago, that feeling was stolen when they say one man started showing up to homes uninvited.

"You can't feel safe when somebody is out here terrorizing the neighborhood," Neighborhood member Jereomy Grissom told LEX 18.

Along with Jereomy Grissom, Natalie Smith, Julie Helmick and other neighbors say one man has been going from home to home in broad daylight and breaking in and taking what he can, like TV's, lawncare equipment, jewelry and even a gun.

"There's been, that I know of, four, and one attempted robbery. On the last attempted robbery, he went at the woman who was calling the law while he was robbing her neighbor," Natalie Smith stated. "Who's to say if he's going to rob you in broad daylight, that he's not going to pull a gun on you? He's got one now."

Neighbors say they'd like to see more police patrols in the area, and they're thankful their surveillance cameras are always watching.

"Our peace of mind has been stolen. Our homes have been violated. And what is the next step? What will it take for them to finally get him? We know who he is. They know who he is. We have pictures of him up so he knows we know who he is and where he lives. It's time to get him off the streets," Neighbor Julie Helmick mentioned.

If you have any information over the burglaries, you are asked to contact Lexington Police.
