Lincoln, Casey Co. Residents Started By Noise

Posted: Updated:

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) There was a booming noise echoing across the Lincoln and Casey County lines Wednesday morning.

It happened around 10 a.m.

A Columbia Gulf spokesperson told LEX 18 that it was maintenance and repair work on a gas line. The spokesperson also claimed that residents were told it would be loud with a door-to-door notification. Those who weren't home at the time to receive that notice were scared. Some said that it brought up memories of the fateful 1986 Garrard County pipeline explosion that injured nine people.

"I lived here when that happened.  They showed it on television. It was bad. Real bad. So everyone around here is concerned," said Lincoln County resident Ray Turner.

Fortunately, it was just routine work heard Wednesday.
