KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) - Five murder charges have been filed against the man accused of causing a crash that killed five individuals in Northern Kentucky.
Daniel Greis, 57, was taken into police custody on Wednesday, although police say he is still being treated in a medical facility. They say he caused the crash that killed Rodney Pollitt, Jr., 26, Samantha Malohn, 27, Hailieann Pollitt, 9, Brendan Pollitt, 8, Cailie Pollitt, 6.
The charges were announced on the day of the family's funerals.
Police say Greis passed on a double yellow line and had to swerve back into his lane, striking the Pollitt family vehicle. His serum alcohol level was 103 mG/dl putting him above the legal limit.
