LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - A Lexington woman's morning commute left her confused and in pain.

Police say a bullet hit her car and grazed her head on Man 'o War near Buckhorn Drive. Kathy Durham told LEX 18 she is lucky to be alive. She was confused after the bullet crashed through her window and grazed her .She drove frantically try to figure out what had happened and even reached back behind her to make sure no one was in her backseat.

"I reached in behind my seat to see if there had been anyone lying in the back there with a sledgehammer. Because, that's what it felt like - a sledgehammer," Durham told LEX 18's Karolina Buczek.

Blood was trickling down her head but she couldn't figure out what had caused it.

Scared and confused, Durham drove back home to Dale Drive. That's where her roommate found the bullet hole in the car and that's when the realization hit her that she had been shot. She was taken to the hospital, but is now at home resting.

Police are still investigating, trying to figure out who exactly fired that shot.
