Coroner: "No Apparent Trauma" In Preliminary Autopsy Report For Infant Found Sunday

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) The Fayette County Coroner's Office announced Monday that the preliminary autopsy for the infant found deceased on La Rochelle Road Sunday indicates no apparent trauma was found during an autopsy.

Police responded to La Rochelle Drive and Bordeaux Drive at 1 a.m. Sunday to a report of an infant in the roadway. When they arrived they found the female baby's body in the normally quiet area.

Additional histology and evaluation from the medical examiner's office are pending.  The coroner is waiting on final autopsy results, but they believe the child was stillborn and was most likely disposed of after her birth.

Police clarified Monday that they are investigating the circumstances of the infant's death, but are waiting for the coroner's results. Anyone with information about this case to contact investigators by calling (859) 258-3600.
