Woman Indicted Two Years After Shooting

Posted: Updated:

MARION COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) - A grand jury is now charging a Marion County woman with manslaughter two years after she was accused of shooting and killing her husband.

"I don't understand why they're doing this two years later. If it was really something that she had done and deserved to go to jail then they should have done it two years ago," said Lebanon resident Roxanna Jackson.

Lebanon Police responded to a domestic call back in October 2015 at the home of Michael and Rebecca Fisher. Officers say they found Michael shot dead and Rebecca with injuries to her face.

Police say that the indictment took so long because of an ongoing backlog at the state crime lab.

LEX 18 tried to reach Rebecca at her business and home but never heard back from her.

Neighbors say that the funeral home owner and her husband had ongoing domestic problems. They can't believe she was charged at all.

"I'm very surprised, very surprised they're doing this to her now, it just doesn't make no sense," said Jackson.

Rebecca Fisher is scheduled to be arraigned in a Marion County court on November 16.
