Man Convicted In Woman's Death Released From Prison

Posted: Updated:

(LEX 18) A Johnson County man who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for killing a woman in Knott County has been released from prison.

Police say that Gary Ward killed Christina Barnett and then hid her body under a pile of trash in 2013.

The family believes she met Ward online.

Ward was sentenced to prison in 2015 but, according to the Department of Corrections website, he is now out of custody and on mandatory reentry supervision.
