POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) -- Police in Powell County have arrested more than 30 people in a large scale drug roundup that netted an interesting find: marijuana rolled up in pages from a Bible.
"Operation Rog," named for late Powell County Chief Deputy Robert "Rog" Matthews, kicked off Wednesday morning when indictments were handed up.
The Powell County Sheriff's Office worked with multiple agencies to round up suspects accused of various drug violations.
Officers executing the arrests found a novel bit of ingenuity: marijuana rolled into joints using pages from a Bible.
All of the suspects are being booked into the Powell County Detention Center and will be arraigned this afternoon.
