JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) - One student was stabbed during an altercation at Johnson Central High School Friday morning.
According to school officials, a student brought a pocket knife onto the campus of the high school. During an altercation, that student inflicted a stab wound to the victim's abdomen.
The injured student was transported to the hospital and was conscious and talking while he was transported. He is listed as stable.
Staff at the school quickly contained the situation and secured the school. There was no outside threat and other students in the building were safe.
The student was taken into custody and will be prosecuted.
