LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) The University of Kentucky tells LEX 18 that a UK employee is now suspended after they allegedly put a sign on a student's car, criticizing her for parking in a handicapped spot even though she has a handicapped placard.

UK Pharmacy student, Lexi Baskin, originally posted about the incident on Twitter. More than 100,000 people liked or shared it.

In her post, Baskin explained that she has a handicapped placard because she has been undergoing radiation therapy for cancer.

"The whole school has a lunch break from 12 to 1, so instead of taking my lunch, I go over the to there, get treatment, and come back and then go back to class," Baskin told LEX 18.

Baskin explained that radiation makes her extremely fatigued and sometimes dizzy, so her doctor gave her the parking placard to help keep her from walking long distances during her daily commute.

She parked outside the University's medical library last week and walked out to her car covered in signs. One paper had a note saying, "there's nothing handicapped about you," and "your tag must be borrowed or fake."

"Most of them said 'shame on you,'" Baskin said. "There were a bunch of white ones saying 'not really handicapped, just lazy.'"

A UK spokesperson told LEX 18 that they could not say who the employee involved is or how the University found them.

No criminal charges have been filed.
