Two More People Wanted In Connection With Fatal Shooting Apprehended

Posted: Updated:

WINCHESTER, Ky (LEX 18) Police confirm that two people wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two teens on East Washington Street earlier this week have been apprehended in Lexington.

16-year-old Adrianna Castro and 16-year-old Kayla Holland died in the shooting Tuesday.

23-year-old Matthew Carmen and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Julia Richardson, were apprehended Friday at the Goodwill in the Hamburg area on Mapleleaf Drive.

Carmen has been charged with murder in the case. Police say it appears he fired shots that night as well. His girlfriend, Richardson, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Captain James Hall said that the two were at the apartment building on East Washington Street on Tuesday night and at some point before the shooting, they had talked to both victims. Police still don't know exactly what led to the gunfire, but they say that Carmen also fired shots that night.

Both Carmen and Richardson have been booked in the Clark County Detention Center.
