Jackson Police Beg Drivers To Slow Down Around Buses

JACKSON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Police in Breathitt County are begging drivers to slow down around school buses after dash cameras show reckless drivers passing them at high speeds.

Officers took to social media to show two instances that happened early Monday morning. Dash camera showed two cars passing buses that were attempting to slow down.

This morning the Breathitt County Schools had 2 vehicles pass buses, one while driving on Kentucky 15 south and one in the parking lot of LBJ and SMS. The school system needs help identifying these vehicles and drivers.

The one on Kentucky 15 south looks to be a white Buick Lesabre it passed the bus on the shoulder of the road at a high rate of speed. It also passed another vehicle on a double yellow line almost hitting another bus.

The other vehicle, a Kia Soul, passed a bus in the parking lot while the stop sign was out.
