WINCHESTER, Ky. (LEX 18) -- Family and friends of one of two 16-year-old girls killed in a shooting gathered Tuesday to pay respects.
Loved ones gathered Tuesday to celebrate Kayla Holland's life at Scobee Funeral Home.
Holland was with Adriana Castro on Nov. 7 when they were shot on East Washington Street in Winchester. One of the teenagers died at the scene, while to other died after being transported to an area hospital.
One friend at Tuesday's ceremony said she also witnessed the shooting.
"The last thing that I heard Kayla and Adriana say to me was that they love me, and I’m always going to keep that with me cause I love them so much," said Gabby Henderson.." I’m always going to cherish those words forever.”
Four young people have been arrested in connection to the shooting deaths. Family and friends say they hope justice is served, and that the perpetrators realize the impact of their actions, and the promising young lives they took.
