Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Berea police arrested Mason around 4:53 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for bail jumping.

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) - Richmond Police are searching for a man wanted for questioning in a death investigation.

Police are searching for Thomas "Gene" Mason in connection to the death of Tammy Masters Alexander earlier this month.

The coroner told LEX 18 that the woman was found dead inside her Richmond apartment and that there were a lot of "red flags."

A neighbor noticed the woman's dogs were loose and went into the apartment to let Tammy know. When she entered, she found her lying on the ground with a pistol close by. Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to her head.

Mason has several felony warrants in Madison County including DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and others.  He is known to drive a 1994 Toyota Corolla with Kentucky registration 675-WYD.
