Boyle Co. Senior Citizens Pose In Calendar Photo Shoot

Posted: Updated:

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) After giving their residents the royal treatment, one Boyle County Assisted Living Center had a calendar photo shoot.

"It was amazing. we had hair and makeup. It was the real deal," said one resident.

The employees at McDowell Place in Danville made sure their residents looked like stars the day of their 2018 calendar photo shoot.

The model for March is Eunice Pence.

"I think they called it March Madness because basketball is mad in Kentucky in March," said Pence.

Organizers of the photo shoot say that the goal of the activity was to make their residents realize that they may be retired, but they can still live life to the fullest.

The models were chosen to portray a certain theme during each month. Sherman McMichael said that he was asked to play the turkey for November. Resident Rose Dickerson said memories came flooding back when she was asked to put on a poodle skirt for the first time in decades.

You can purchase a calendar in December, they benefit the Danville-Boyle Senior Citizens Center.
