Heightened Alert Lifted At Local Elementary Schools

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- Lansdowne Elementary School and Millcreek Elementary School are being placed under a heightened alert situation. 

Officials say extra precautions will be taken when screening visitors and police will be present in both locations.

A possible shots fired call came from the surrounding area around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. 

Police are currently clearing the scene after they found nothing upon arrival. The schools will remain on heightened alert until around 9 a.m.

    NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Emergency crews are on the scene Monday evening after a vehicle hit a pedestrian along U.S. Highway 27 in Nicholasville. The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. along U.S. 27 near Windmill Way. Multiple police and ambulance crews were at the scene.     SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)-- Kentucky State Police confirm that the current Scott County coroner is under investigation.  John Goble has been the coroner for nearly 20 years. He is up for reelection in May 2018.  KSP did not elaborate on the situation.
