Drivers Encouraged To Use Extra Caution In Heavy Fog

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- Take it slow as you head out Friday morning because of all the fog.

It's been really dense in areas around the city overnight.

Drivers say visibility was very low in many places late Thursday night, especially on the outskirts of town.

And at a time of year deer often want to cross highways, many drivers used extra caution to stay safe.

"I just came out of the building and it was real thick fog, thickest I've seen this year... you know be careful, slow down, like you would in any weird weather you know," said Kevin Hamm.

Use fog lights if you have them, but avoid your high-beam lights.

And if there's zero visibility and you must pull over, turn off all lights except your flashing hazard ones.
