Police Investigating Multiple Gas Station Robberies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Five robberies or attempted robberies at Lexington gas stations over the past week are possibly connected. The Lexington Police Department is asking the public for help as it continues to investigate these crimes.

The cases involve a similar suspect and weapon description and method of operation. In each incident, one or two unknown males dressed in hooded sweatshirts enter the gas station, brandish a handgun and demand money from the clerk. The robberies or attempted robberies that police believe may be connected are:

  • Nov. 25 – 2:45 a.m. – Shell station at 1975 Nicholasville Road
  • Nov. 26 – 2:15 a.m. – Circle K at West Main Street and Forbes Road
  • Nov. 28 – 1:15 a.m. – Thornton’s at 1120 Winchester Road
  • Nov. 28 – 2:45 a.m. – Super America at Tates Creek Road and Malibu Drive
  • Nov. 28 – 3:30 a.m. – Speedway at 2900 Richmond Road

Investigators on Friday released video and audio from two of the incidents in hopes of generating leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lexington Police by calling 859-258-3600.
