LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) The Kentucky State Police Foundation hosted its first-ever 'Gold for Gray' Gala in Lexington Friday night.

The event was held at the Grand Reserve Center to raise funds for the men and women of the KSP. The KSP Foundation helps the families of troopers in crisis, as well as the Operation Trooper Island, a non-profit for disadvantaged children.

"The Mission of the foundation is to support the Kentucky State Police. We do that through building partnerships through corporations and private citizens across Kentucky, or anywhere really for that matter, so our goal here tonight, is to connect the two is to connect our citizens that can help us money to help supplement the Kentucky State Police," said David Jude, the executive director of KSP.
