UK Hospital Hosts Annual 'Breakfast With Santa'

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital held its annual "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday.

Kentucky Children's Hospital patients and UK Healthcare families enjoyed a hot meal and got to spend some time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The children got some time to share their Christmas wish lists.

UK athletes, including members of the women's basketball team, acted as Santa's helpers.

"I think it's just a fun event," said Katie Tibbets, manager of volunteer services at Chandler Hospital. "The holidays are such a fun time of year, and we're all so busy all of the time, so it's just a great opportunity for all of us to get together, and just have a really fun time together."

This event marked the 30th year the hospital has held the annual breakfast celebration.

Organizers say they hope to continue the tradition for years to come.
