After 23 Years, LEX 18 Receptionist (And Station Mother) Alyce Casey Resigns

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, KY (LEX 18) - For 23 years, if you ever visited LEX 18's studios, Alyce Casey was the first person you likely ran into. If you called, she most likely spoke to you over the phone. If you called twice, she would remember your name.

Alyce was the "mama" of the station who always gave a listening ear or shoulder to cry on to anyone who needed it. She loved talking about her daughters and her grandchildren. And now, she will retire alongside her husband, Mike.

During her time at LEX 18, Alyce says she had many memorable experiences, including an amusing encounter with actor Woody Harrelson and the time a suspect in a high profile murder turned himself in to her at the station lobby.

As a result of her years of service, Mayor Jim Gray has proclaimed December 4, 2017 "Alyce Casey Day" in Lexington.

We love you, Alyce.
