Posted: Updated:

WHITESBURG, Ky. (EKB) — Nearly four years after Michael Hogg was stabbed to death in Letcher County, one man accused in the death has been convicted in the slaying.

Hogg was stabbed to death during a fight with James Huffman, Christopher Puckett and Stacy Phillips outside of a Whitesburg bar back in 2014.

Officials say Huffman stabbed Hogg.

EKB News reports the jury recommended Huffman serve life in prison for murder plus 45 years for other charges.

Formal sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 18.
