Deputy At Montgomery Co. Detention Center Arrested For Trafficking

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A deputy of the Montgomery County Detention Center was arrested for trafficking meth and promoting contraband, according to the Montgomery County Jailer. 

The jailer said his office has been working with the sheriff's office on an investigation after they received a tip about drug trafficking going on inside of the jail. He said that they determined through evidence, including surveillance, that Brian Prater was involved in allegedly trafficking meth inside of the jail and also bringing tobacco into the jail.

Prater was arrested and taken to Powell County Jail.

    WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) - The interstate is about to get a little sticky this morning. A semi carrying a load of popsicles has crashed on I-64 near milemarker 60. A witness tells LEX 18 that a car ran one semi off the road and caused it to crash into a second semi that was sitting on the shoulder.  No one was injured. Unfortunately, popsicles have covered the roadway. Crews are working to clear the scene. Versailles Police are responding.
