PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (Commonwealth-Journal)-- A Nancy woman was airlifted to the UK Hospital after a two-vehicle accident involving a semi towing a large bulldozer.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Ky. 914 and Oakhill Road.

Peggy McClendon, 56, was treated at the scene by EMS before being transported by helicopter. A UK?spokesperson said that she was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday evening.

A 3-year-old passenger in McClendon’s vehicle was transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital with minor injuries, according to the Somerset Police Department.

SPD officers determined that McClendon was driving westbound on Oakhill Road when it appears she failed to stop for a red light.

The vehicle was struck in the driver’s side area by a 2009 Peterbilt Semi towing a bulldozer. The semi was traveling northbound on Ky. 914 and was being driven by Kenneth McCown, 49, of Mount Vernon. McCown was not reported as being injured in the accident.
