LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Several players and coaches met with the media in advance of Louisville, here's a transcript with Killeya-Jones.

On how much they’re looking forward to bouncing back after a loss …
“We’re excited for any game, but we’re definitely excited to come out and really regroup and show that we didn’t take a step back or anything. We’re taking steps forward, improving, trying to build on everything and improve on where we messed up last game.”

On if they can take positives coming off a loss before going into a big game …
“Definitely. I think when you lose a game it means we messed some things up, that we didn’t execute our game plan the way we were supposed to. So, we have to look at where we messed up and try to take those mistakes and focus on those in practice. That’s what we’ve been doing and we’ll have those fixed for the next game.”

On what he remembers from last year’s game vs. Louisville …
“For us, we’re taking this as another game. Obviously, it’s a good opponent and we have to take it seriously, but we told the young guys it’s going to be a fanfare. This is their Super Bowl. This is the rivalry and everything. So, it’s going to be a great atmosphere. It’s going to be a fun game. Just go out there and play. Just hoop.”

On the biggest areas they need to improve on from the UCLA loss …
“Pick-and-roll defense is something we’ve been focusing on a lot. Just rotations, talking well and that all comes – pick-and-roll is a part of that – as a part of communication, and all being on the same page. Then getting those 50-50 balls we missed and getting back to playing our aggressive and up-tempo style of play.”

On Louisville’s shot-blocking frontcourt …
“I mean, yeah, we’ve seen film. Like any team, we watch film and they have some good bigs and everything. They have some big guys, but we have some big guys too. So, we’ll see.”

On his Christmas break and if it was tough going in on a loss …
“Yeah, definitely. We wanted to get that win to seal out the year, well, I guess not the year, but seal out going into the break time and kind of a buffer period. It’s tough to go home on that, but at least we all got to kind of go home and take a couple days. Everybody got to spend some time with their family and now we’re back and refocused and really ready to get after it.”

On how the team has come back …
“Everybody has come back on a – everybody has come back thinking that we can’t let that happen again. We know people aren’t happy. It’s not really our concern, but we just gotta come back and prove that we are who we are and we’re not going to get disrespected by anybody. We’re a really good team and we’re going to keep building. We lost the game and we’re going to come back and show everybody who we are.”

On Coach Cal saying his players aren’t getting enough respect and if Killeya-Jones feels disrespected …
“Yeah, I mean, somewhat. I don’t really pay attention to it too much, but from what I’ve heard people aren’t really showing us the respect we deserve. So, I mean, that’s cool. Let them say what they want to say. We’re just going to keep coming out here and hooping. Like I said, we’re refocused, we’re not concerned about what anybody else is saying, but we’ll show them.”

On if UK will alter what it does offensively against a prolific shot-blocking team like Louisville …
“No, we’re going to play our game either way. Their shot blockers aren’t going to change anything. They have some big guys, but we have big guys too, like I said. We have a bunch of great players that know how to get to the rim. Obviously, they’re a good shot-blocking team, but we got good shot-blockers too.”

On what he learned about this rivalry’s intensity from last year’s game …
“We were at Louisville last year, so obviously that was a crazy environment. But I knew coming in that this rivalry is the marquee matchup of the year for the fans. They look forward to this game and it’s a big game for us too. But again, it’s another game against a good opponent. We’re going to come in focused to play and not let anything come in and distract us.”

On if they allow themselves to get into this rivalry like the fans do …
“We’re not going to let anything distract us. The only thing that can come out of that is a positive. It’s just going to be a great environment, playing at home the fans are going to be riled up, it’s going to be loud in there. It’s going to be a great basketball environment to play in. Our fans are going to have us even that much more ready to play.”
