AAA Recommends Winterizing Your Car

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) The cold can take a toll on cars in the area. AAA said its crews are busy helping people get their cars going.

"Over the ten-day holiday period that just passed, we responded to more than 3,500 emergency calls in Kentucky alone," said Shawn Steward with AAA.

Those calls are because of problems made worse in extreme weather conditions.

"Dead batteries, flat tires and other engine issues that are involved need a tow," he said.

These freezing temperatures will be around for a while, so AAA recommends making sure your car is ready for the arctic air.

"Making sure the battery is properly charged. All hoses and belts are in good condition and your tires are properly inflated," he said.
