LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Quarterback Drew Barker announced on Twitter Tuesday night that he will be transferring for his graduate season.
He wrote, "I'd like to thank the coaches, strength staff, medical staff and nutritionists for all of the countless hours you all have put into making me and my teammates better men."
Barker's career at Kentucky began with promise, throwing a career-high 70 passes in 2015, and a career-high four touchdowns in 2016. However, an injury in 2016 derailed his chances of being the guy. Stephen Johnson emerged and played well. As Johnson's backup this season Barker only threw seven passes.
JUCO commit Terry Wilson is expected to compete with Gunnar Hoak for UK's starting job.
