Fire Kills Two Animals, Crews Attempt To Locate Homeowners

Posted: Updated:

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)-- An overnight fire destroyed a mobile home and killed two dogs.

The fire broke out in the 1500 block of Lone Oak Road in Clay City.

Officials say it was engulfed when they arrived, and because available water was miles away, they had to use just the water from their trucks.

Once it was under control, two dogs were found dead and a cat was found alive but with burns.

Fire crews say propane and electric was running, meaning it appears someone lived inside.

So far they have not been able to get a hold of the person they think is the resident.

We will update this story as more information develops.
