Catholic Action Center In Need Of Food, Volunteers

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: The coffee maker has been purchased.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) The Catholic Action Center is preparing for winter weather but they have run into a big problem.

The center's commercial coffee maker has broken before they prepare to shelter and feed individuals who would otherwise be out in the storms. Coffee is a vital part of their ministry.

If anyone has a large commercial coffee maker that they would like to donate to the shelter, call 859-255-0301.

The shelter could also use food to help with the influx of individuals.

Volunteers who donate time and resources are always welcome. If you would like to volunteer with the Compassionate Caravan program, which helps pick up people and to get them out of the storm, you are asked to go 1055 Industry Road at 6 p.m.

From 5 p.m.-11 p.m. the COLD LINE for reporting someone who needs a ride to a shelter or supplies will go live: (859) 913-0038. If you see someone who needs help, just call or text the address and description and they will be checked on.

Shelter owners say they are most in need of a professional snow scraping business to donate their time to help keep their parking lot and sidewalks clear.
