Lexington Road Conditions

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) -  Road crews have been working diligently overnight to treat the busiest roads in the city.

During a press conference yesterday, Mayor Jim Gray announced that crews would work in 12-hour shifts until the snow event was over. New Circle Road and the interstate are still being treated as the remains of the system continue to create hazardous conditions.

There have been a number of crashes overnight. One person was hurt in a crash on Blackford Parkway. Currently, a truck has caused a delay on Northbound 75 just across the Scott County line.

The main concern is not the snow, but rather the ice underneath.

Highways are expected to improve throughout the morning but that could take some time.
