Lexington Man Faces Child Exploitation Charges

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington man is facing child exploitation charges after an investigation by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch.

Paul J. Fontana, 26, was arrested Tuesday after an undercover probe by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

Fontana faces 25 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance of a minor.

Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at a home in Lexington, where the seized equipment that is being examined by forensic experts. Officials said the investigation into the case is ongoing.

Fontana was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.

The Manchester Enterprise is reporting that the child wrote a post on Facebook threatening violence. They say the threat was acted upon quickly by the school board and law enforcement. The superintendent tells the newspaper that authorities took the student into custody and he's being held in the Breathitt Juvenile Facility.
