FRANKFORT, Ky (LEX 18) KSP responded to a complaint of child abuse at the Learning Tree Academy in Franklin County.

KSP received the complaint from a parent. During the course of the investigation, KSP detectives determined the alleged abuse was occurring at the Learning Tree Academy on Michael Davenport Road in Frankfort. After further investigation, speaking with several parents and other employees of Learning Tree Academy, other alleged victims were identified.

25-year-old Tiara C. Broce, of Frankfort, was an employee of the Learning Tree Academy. She has been indicted on six counts of 2nd-degree Criminal Child Abuse.

"We think it's shameful that six children suffered abuse at the hands of the Learning Tree Academy," said Phil Robinson, whose daughter was allegedly abused.

Robinson filed a complaint against the school in November when his daughter, who will go by the initials S.R., came home with bad wounds on her back and torso. In total, the investigation has uncovered six counts of alleged abuse dating back to February 2017.

"We've worked closely with the owner to ensure the safety of the kids who are still there. Obviously, Miss Broce is no longer with the facility," said Bernie Napier with KSP.

Robinson said that his daughter was pulled out of the school immediately.

"I trust that the judicial system will take care of the individual. My concern is now is for the facility and ensuring that no other children have this problem," said Robinson. "It's unlikely six were abused without some level of awareness from other workers, management or owners of the facility."

The investigation continues.
