Paul Simon Announces That He Will Stop Touring

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Beloved singer/songwriter Paul Simon announced that his upcoming tour will be his last.

Citing the death of his lead guitarist, Vincent N'guini, Simon announced that his upcoming tour would be his last. He does anticipate a few acoustic gigs and charity performances.

"Mostly, though, I feel the travel and time away from my wife and family takes a toll that detracts from the joy of playing. I'd like to leave with a big Thank You to the many folks around the world who've come out to watch me play over the last 50 years," wrote Simon.

The singer, affectionately nicknamed "Rhymin' Simon," is best known for being one-half of the duo Simon and Garfunkel, as well as an extensive solo career with the hit songs "You Can Call Me Al" and "Graceland."
