LEXINGTON, Ky (Courier-Journal) The Courier-Journal is reporting that UK basketball player Tai Wynyard, who was suspended from all team activities for a violation of team rules, was at a party where UK fraternity and sorority members said an armed student attended to "protect" Wynyard.
UK would not confirm with the paper if that suspension was connected to the allegation of the armed student.
The Group Me message was shared by sorority members last month. The Courier-Journal obtained those messages, which they report stated: “there is a (person) showing up to parties with the basketball player Tai Wynyard. (The person) showed up last night to our rush party and ... had a gun ... said he was 'protecting' Wynyard. ... If you go out tonight and see (person) DO NOT APPROACH (person). Share this to EVERY SISTER."
“As a matter of policy, we do comment on student disciplinary matters,” the UK spokesperson told the paper.
