Lexington Street Crews Treating Roads, Bridges As Winter Storm Hits

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Road crews were out early Wednesday across Lexington checking conditions ahead of rush hour.

"So far, Lexington’s streets are rain-covered. But we do not have ice on the roads," Albert Miller, Director of Streets and Roads, said in a news release.

Officials said crews will treat bridges and overpasses with brine just before the morning rush.

City officials said that police reported no weather-related traffic problems overnight.

Miller cautioned motorists to exercise care and to be aware of water pooling on roadways.
