Three Killed In Owen Co. Crash

OWEN COUNTY, Ky (LEX 180 Ky 355 in Owen County was closed due to a fatal crash Wednesday.

Officials say three people died in the crash. 

KSP said that around 1 p.m. one vehicle was travelling north on KY HWY 355 when it left the outside edge of the roadway. It went into the oncoming lane when it reentered the roadway. The other vehicle involved was travelling southbound in the opposite direction and collided with the vehicle once it entered its lane of travel. 

KSP said that as a result of the collision the southbound vehicle overturned and caught fire.  The northbound vehicle overturned and traveled down an embankment where it came to rest in a field.

The road was shut down for hours. 

The single occupant in the northbound vehicle and the two occupants in the southbound were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as Hobert Humphrey, a 56-year-old male. The occupants of the southbound vehicle were identified as David Harrison, a 62-year-old male and Sheryl Harrison, a 61-year-old female. They were all from Perry Park. 

Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday in Frankfort.
