Hardin Co. Deputy Involved In Shooting

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE 3)-- A traffic stop on a quiet road led to an officer-involved shooting.

Troopers say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday night on Bacon Creek Road near Glendale Hodgenville Road.

They say a deputy was attempting to make a traffic stop for reckless driving, but that driver turned around and came toward police.

Officials the driver was shot and flown to the University of Louisville Hospital in serious condition.

The deputy was not injured. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave. 

Kentucky State Police are investigating.
