Boyle Co. Driver Experiences Close Call

Posted: Updated:

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A driver in Boyle County had an extremely close call Monday morning. The weather may have been a factor when his truck slid off the road and was inches from going over a cliff.

The pickup truck slid off Forkland Road and ran into a tree.

"One tree kept the truck from going all the way over the embankment 50 feet," said Boyle County Constable Buck Sawyer.

Sawyer said that they hear calls of vehicles sliding off the road, and it's usually a bad outcome.

"In this area, year, it's usually pretty bad over here. This is not the first wreck we've worked in here," said Sawyer.

Thanks to the little tree, the driver walked away perfectly fine. Sawyer wants other drivers to be cautious though.

"Everybody around here pretty much knows this road, they know how it lays, it's just a tricky road especially when it's wet and with the weather like it is. We had a lot of ice this morning," he said.
