Signing story on Lexy and Faith Lake

Jan. 10, 2018

HARRODSBURG, Ky. — For the second time in the last three years, head coach Ginger Colvin has signed a set of twins to join Lady Tiger basketball. Mercer County's Faith and Lexy Lake committed to Campbellsville, Colvin announced recently.

The Lake's are joining a team next season that will have the Lincoln County twins – Caitlin Hall and Cristin Hall – and four Madison's – Madison Kaiser, Madison Faulkner, Madison Stewart and Madison Sheppard (a recent signee from North Laurel High School).

Both Faith and Lexy are 1,000-point scorers for the Mercer County Titans. Lexy joined The Club this season, while Faith punched her ticket last season in her junior year.

"We are certain that Lexy and Faith are what we need to keep the strong tradition of our program moving in the right direction," said Colvin. "They are battle tested and still competing on a very high level. They are great kids, students and players. We are always happy when we can get one player of that capacity so getting two is very exciting.

"They are well coached and play for a great program. We know they will bring great experience to our team. These two are winners. We can't wait to see what successes they have in their final high school season and then as Lady Tigers."

The Lake's have led Mercer County to a regional championship the past four years – 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2016, Mercer County earned a spot in the KHSAA Sweet 16 semifinal and won the state title in 2017.

Lexy, standing at 5-foot-7, earned All-Region honors last season and was also named All-State. Faith, who stands at 5-foot-9, was an All-Region and All-State performer the past two seasons as well.

Both also run track for Mercer County and have placed at the state championship. The twins teamed up to finish in third place in the 3200-meter relay in 2016 and runner-up in 2017.

Both are also Academic All-State performers in the classroom. They are interested in the medical field for their undergraduate degrees.

Lexy and Faith are the third and fourth Lady Tigers to be announced for the 2018-19 season, as Shelby Harmeyer and Madison Sheppard signed recently as well.
