GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)-- A Central Kentucky animal shelter is asking for help after operating over capacity for several months.
This year the Garrard County Humane Society is on track to serve more than 750 animals.
Several hoarding cases means the small shelter is scrambling to find homes for the animals. If you can't adopt, they are also in need of monetary donations.
"If everyone shows up and helps us out and all these dogs move, even if we can get rid of 15-20 dogs at this point, it's going to help us out a ton, so we can get prepared to get new kennels installed, our kennels are falling apart and that's our huge project right now to get kennels installed." said Brittany Fain, with the Garrard County Animal Shelter.
This Saturday, four Girl Scout troops will be at the shelter to collect donations.
