MCCREARY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) - Prayers, hope, and unity are all a McCreary County family has as Darren Kidd's family gathered Friday for a candlelight vigil.
Kidd's family won't give up trying to find the man, who has been missing for almost two months.
Patsy Gibson is in pain, but a smile sneaks out when she thinks about the last time she saw her son.
"He got a pizza out of the freezer. We laughed about it because it was just funny. And then he kissed me on the cheek and told me he loved me. And he left," said Gibson.
The next day, Kidd's girlfriend reported him missing. Relatives say the stories about how he disappeared keep changing.
Gibson believes some people are hiding the truth.
"Makes you angry. Real angry," said Gibson.
Several searches have come up empty. But through the heartache, loved ones are holding onto one another a little tighter .
"Oh yeah we been right there. You don't take them for granted," said Michelle Kennedy, Kidd's cousin.
"I don't think that he's living, and I just wanna know where he's at," said Gibson.
A simple plea that brings Darren Kidd home.
