Attorney For Murder Suspect Asks That Confession Be Suppressed

HART COUNTY, Ky. (Glascow Daily News) - The defense attorney for the man accused of killing a woman and putting her dismembered body in a container is asking the court to not allow his confession to be introduced at trial.

Clark Smith, 54, is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Kristen Edwards in 2016.

Edwards' body was found in a tote in the Green River.

Smith is facing charges of murder, evidence tampering and abuse of a corpse. His trial is scheduled to begin in Barren County Circuit Court on April 25.

    LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - A Lexington woman is in jail after police say she strangled her sister during a fight. Police were called to 2045 Cambridge Drive to a report of a disturbance.
