BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Danville man is in custody after police say he shot his wife to death Tuesday night during a domestic dispute.
Colin Montgomery, 29, is charged with murder in the death of 27-year-old Jennifer Montgomery.
Kentucky State Police were called just after 8 p.m. to a residence on Shakertown Road north of Danville.
The Boyle County Sheriff says a man earlier had called 911 saying he shot his wife. Deputies took Montgomery into custody.
KSP troopers say their initial investigation indicated children may have been present at the time of the shooting but no one else was injured.
"We're going to be looking for evidence outside of the residence," said KSP Trooper Robert Purdy. "Chances are we're going to be conducting a search warrant, looking for things inside just to paint a picture of what may have happened here tonight."
Montgomery was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center.
