Country Duo Sundy Best Announces Break Up

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Famous Kentucky country music duo Sundy Best has announced that they are breaking up after eight years together,

The group, best known for their hit single "Home," have been a staple in the country music scene in Kentucky. You could catch them at UK Football games and performing around town.

In 2015, the group held a fundraising concert in the aftermath of devastating floods in Johnson County, Kentucky. Organizers at the time told LEX18 they raised about $50,000, about $20,000 was on-site and the rest was raised through a telethon and online.

On a post on his Facebook page, Nick Jamerson wrote the following:

I feel like today is the day that I need to say this.

For the last 8 years or so I have been fortunate enough to play in a band that has been loved and supported in ways that I never imagined were possible for something I was a part of. Through my time with Sundy Best, I have seen more of this world , met so many people, felt so much love. I am so thankful for Kris and all the kinfolk out there who have made the dream a reality. There are so many people out there that want to play music for a living. Because of YOU , the people, coming out to shows, buying CDs, turning your friends on to SB, it has allowed me to live a life that is full of passion.

With that being said, Sundy Best is no longer a band and will not be playing anymore shows. We are constantly being messaged and requested for booking, and I feel like it is only right to let people know where It stands.

I have learned so much during my time playing and working with Kris (Bentley.) Lessons I will take with me into this new season of life. I want to thank him for all of his heart that he put into SB from day 1.

One of those lessons is that there is more to life than being gone all the time. I love my family. I love being in Prestonsburg and being part of the community here. It is my hope and intention to help our state and region in any way I possibly can to bring more of what we need. I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of people and feel like I can be a bridge between a lot of different groups that are all trying to do the same thing. Which is figuring out a way to make life a little bit easier/better for the people of Eastern Kentucky.

I will continue to write, record and perform music. As I feel like it is a gift from God to be able to do such a thing. I view the entire process as a celebration in observation of existence. I enjoy doing it now more than ever and believe that my best work is yet to come.

I still plan on touring. Both as myself and as a part of The Jamersons. I have 2 brothers and a sister that all sing and write like angels. It is my hope that we can carve out our own little niche together. When I am with them, I am the happiest and best version of myself.

I just want to thank you for your support. It is very much appreciated. I hope to see some of you on down the road.

All the best
